THE CENTRAL RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE

The Central Rural Electric Cooperative is a not-for- profit electric distribution cooperative that provides service to seven central Oklahoma counties. Located in Stillwater, the goal of the new facility was to create a 21 st century, headquarters with a smart CRM system. With CREC involvement, technology systems needs were analyzed with the main focus on the Systems Operation Center. The mission critical Center must gather data from electricity providers, sub-stations in out-lying areas, and over 20,000 subscribers, and display this data in real-time. This mission critical space required a secure data acquisition and distribution system and we assisted CREC in evaluating several solutions. A selected choice provided an encrypted node-based system with no single-point- of-failure, driving a 13 X 2 matrix video wall of 55” flat panel monitors.
